Farrells to be left in safe hands
Farrells to be left in safe hands
Sir Terry has made an official announcement egarding the future Farells. In his statement Sir Terry reflected on his long, distinguished career and acknowledged the wealth of young talent moving up through the ranks and said that he believed that the practice would be left "in very safe hands".
   
Stephen Hodder named next RIBA president
Stephen Hodder has been confirmed as the next president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Stephen will become president elect on 1 September 2012 and will take over the two-year elected presidency from Angela Brady on 1 September 2013. Stephen will be the 75th RIBA President.

World Monuments Fund to repair Coventry Cathedral
World Monuments Fund and American Express have announced $1 million in grant funding to six valuable architectural sites. This is the first allocation from a $5 million, five-year grant to the World Monuments Fund to support the World Monuments Watch. 

Big lift for historic Southend Pier
A new 350sqm cultural centre commissioned by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and designed by Scandinavian practice White arkitekter, working in partnership with London based architects Sprunt, is due to be craned onto Southend Pier this week.

Abramovic commissions OMA

Artist Marina Abramovic has commissioned OMA to develop a former theatre in upstate New York into the Marina Abramović Institute for the Preservation of Performance Art. The project marries Abramović's 40 years of pioneering work in the genre with OMA's innovation in theatres, museums and curation.
