A divine intervention
Freedom Church has purchased a former Odeon cinema building for £1 million. The building has Site of Special Interest (SSI) status owing to its architectural and community value. The Freedom Church plans to renovate and refurbish the previously condemmed property for community use.

London-based firm, Grismshaw Architects, has been selected by The All England Lawn Tennis Club to design the Club’s “Wimbeldon 2020” masterplan for future development requirements. The new masterplan continues the previous ‘Long Term Plan’, which was commissioned in 1993 and completed in June 2011. 

Saint-Gobain Isover names competition judging panel
Saint-Gobain Isover has revealed the judging panel for the UK final of its 2012 Student Architectural Design competition, which takes place at Ecobuild on Wednesday 21 March 2012. The developer of insulation solutions has secured support from Professor Wolfgang Feist.

SOM Chicago wins design competition
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP's (SOM) Chicago wing has won an international competition to design the Greenland Group Suzhou Centre in Wujing, China. The new tower will stand at 358 metres tall and will be made up of 75 floors.
